A Noite da Dona Luciana (1985) is a flippant and colourful comedy as is Copi’s style. The play dilutes the frontiers between imagination and the collective unconscious stereotypes, as it establishes an acidic humoristic caricature that stretches from the daily reality to the reaches of the absurd and extravagance. The circumstances that are created are cliché and common situation, but also dissolves into a fantasy world.
A late rehearsal takes place at a theatre, with the author, the actress and the technical engineer. The rehearsal is disrupted by an old transsexual stripper who starts a conflict with the company, throwing the audience into a spiral of truth and delusion, passion and black humor.
The show had two nominations for the Portuguese Society of Authors Awards: Best Show of the Year and Best Actress of the Year (Rita Cruz).
