2023 - Lisboa, LU.CA - Teatro Luís de Camões, 4 - 8 OCT Created by Ana Lázaro, Martim Sousa Tavares and Ricardo Neves-NevesPedro Patê is a boy wearied by his own unusual luck: the son of two opera singers who lives himself inside an Opera that never ends, with the background music of an Orchestra that leads his every move and gesture. Bored with this unusual condition, and tired of listening to arias, cavatinas, intermezzos and so on (imagine what it’d be like to be followed around by an Orchestra when you simply want to read a comic book, take a shower, or just take a leak), or being dragged into epic adventures, dramas and shenenigans by his Father – Bellini Bel Canto (an ex-barber in Seville) and his Mother – Faustina Balão, a true Diva of the Barroque (not to be mistaken with “baroque diva” – she gets truelly crossed!), Pedro Patê dreams of becoming an illusionist and discovering the trick that will enable him to steal the songs from his family’s mouths with just a snap of a finger!
Until one day, when Faustina Balão’s cat – Don Giovanni al Latte, disappears under mysterious circumstances. Preciselly on the day of Bellini Bel Canto and Faustina Balão’s Silver Wedding Anniversary.
After all, in the Opera there are no limits to the unexpected!
